Working as freelance documentary producer, cameraman, editor and director in Mozambique. Created and worked in several documentary projects concerning social issues like HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, land questions in rural communities, sustainable forest industry, malaria, street children and contemporary art for institutions including UNESCO, FHI (Family Health International), USAID.

WORK IN AFRICA
 

Panu Kari has worked as a Director of Photography in the filmes of Orlando Mesquita ("TEMPEST" / 24´/ 2008), Rogério Manjate ("I LOVE YOU" / 3´24" / 2007 and "MY HUSBAND´S DENIAL" / 20´20" / 2007), Flora Massochua ("UPROOTED" / 2005-2008) and José Augusto Nhantumbo ("MUVART" / 52´/ 2005) and his co-directions with Mr. Nhantumbo ("HOMECOMINGS" and "EVEN STREET KIDS DREAM OF SOMETHING"). He is preparing a documentary ("THE LAST DAYS OF GRANDMOTHER MARIA") in Maputo, Mozambique.

THEATRE AND DANCE COLLABORATIONS

In 2008 Panu Kari collaborated with Makeda Thomas, a contemporary choreographer from Trinidad and Tobago / USA related to her choreogaphy "FRESWATER" producing a video dance "COSTA DEL ALMA" (7´38") in Maputo, Mozambique. Panu Kari has worked as video artist with other contemporary choreographers like Augusto Cuvilas ("FÍN", / 2007-08 and "EL TANGO DE LA MUERTE" / 2006) and Maria Helena Pinto ("MAPUTO" and "L´OEIL ET LA PERCEPTION") creating projection material and music for the performances. He has collaborated with a french theatre director Jean Paul Delore / Lezard Dramatique in his creations "PEUT ETRE",  / 2007 and "MACHIBOMBO" / 2006 in France and Mozambique. He has also collaborated with mozambican contemporary artists like Berry Bickle ("AR.CA.DI.A" / 2008) and Gemuce ("DEIXA ANDAR" and "CHAPA 100").
